
Ingredients
Dough
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 2 tsp yeast
- 2 tsp honey
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
Apple Mixture
- 2 green apples, peeled & diced
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 tbsp honey
Oil
- 2 cups oil for frying
Pomegranate Glaze
- 1 1/2 cup swerve (or powdered sugar)
- 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Add the yeast & honey to warm milk, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Add in the remaining dough ingredients. Knead & cover to rise for an hour.
- Heat up all of the apple mixture ingredients & simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the apples into the risen dough.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle and slice into 1/2 inch cubes.
- Combine the cubes & divide into 10-15 patties.
- Cover & let them rise for another 45 minutes.
- Mix the pomegranate glaze ingredients together.
- Fry in hot oil for about 2 minutes on each side.
- Dip the fritters in the glaze and enjoy!
